The brief was simple: showcase the city’s unique energy, creativity, and community through powerful, atmospheric photography.
Our team set out to capture the beating heart of Glasgow’s music and nightlife scene, immersing ourselves in the venues, streets, and people that make Glasgow a cultural hotspot.
We photographed some of the city’s most iconic spaces, from record stores like Assai and Monorail to legendary venues including King Tut’s, Sub Club, and Oran Mór. Each location was chosen to reflect a different aspect of Glasgow’s personality — from intimate singer-songwriter nights to packed dancefloors and spontaneous street performances.
Our style was deliberately authentic and candid.
We wanted to feel part of the action, capturing moments as they unfolded naturally rather than staging or directing. This gave the final collection a raw, honest energy — whether it was a busker mid-song, a crowd losing themselves to the music, or the quiet moments just before a gig kicked off.
The final hi-res images were delivered as part of the Visit Glasgow Photography Toolkit, providing a versatile, candid image suite which is now used as a resource to showcase the city’s vibrant music and nightlife scene.
