1. More McTominay Magic
Almost two months have now passed, and Scotland fans are still going head-over-heels for THAT goal… oh, and THAT other goal... and THAT other goal (you get the picture). Scotland are back in the big time for the first time in 28 long years. And now with a bonus of a bank holiday on the horizon, our first game against Haiti promises to be the kind of event that we talk about for many more years to come - well, until the next time we qualify...so 28 years or thereabouts.

2. Welcoming a Wealth of Talent
The Commonwealth Games are back, baby! And this time it’s personal. Well… smaller in scale, to be precise. But don’t be disheartened - if there’s one thing that Glasgow always tops the podium on, it’s putting on a show!
3. Retro Revivals and Reboots
If you’re looking for your yearly shot of the sweet nectar that is nostalgia, then 2026 should sort you right out.First up is 00’s favourite ‘Malcolm in the Middle’. America’s favourite dysfunctional family since ‘The Simpsons’ returns – older, and most likely, none-the-wiser. Personally, I’m hoping that they weave a little Walter White into Brian Cranston’s Hal for the new series.Keeping with the subject of TV returns, the madcap medics from ‘Scrubs’ are also set to return this year. Much like real life hospitals, the wait has been a long one.And finally, straight outta Eternia, is the much-anticipated reboot of the ‘Masters of the Universe’ movie. With a star-studded cast, Mattel’s He-man and his musclebound chums get their shot at Barbie-style reinvention. Expect a little emo-energy brought to the role of Skeletor from Jared Leto.
4. Return of the IMAX Daddy
At the other end of the cinematic universe, Christopher Nolan brings 2026 an epic slice of entertainment to the silver screen with his retelling of ‘The Odyssey’. Shot entirely on IMAX 70mm cameras, this is one to be enjoyed by film geeks and Greek geeks alike.
5. CMATATTRNSMT
Glasgow welcomes the wonderful CMAT to Glasgow Green as part of this summer’s TRNSMT festival. What it woefully lacks in vowels, it will make up for in howls (sorry) of approval.
6. Feeling Sinister Milking a Tiger in the Park
And finally, if you prefer your outdoor music seated and in the beautiful surroundings of Kelvingrove’s Bandstand, then 2026 has a real treat in store for you. Everyone’s favourite Glasgow band named after a 60’s French cartoon, Belle and Sebastian, will be playing their two seminal records ‘Tigermilk’ and ‘If You’re Feeling Sinister’ over two nights in June.

Let’s keep in touch.
