UK-wide TV and print campaign increasing footfall and generating revenue for Glasgow City Centre throughout the festive period.
Maguires were chosen to be the lead creative agency for the 2015 Glasgow Loves Christmas campaign.
A key aspect in answering the brief was the conception of a look and feel which captured the magic of Glasgow city centre throughout the Christmas period.
The design and production of a ‘snowflake’ brand family was developed, with each festive event having its own unique snowflake identifier.
A distinctive, hand-drawn ‘Christmas card’ style approach was proposed for the TV commercials and outdoor advertising, with celebrated Glasgow artist Adrian McMurchie invited to illustrate all of the featured Glasgow city landmarks. Our project team worked closely with Adrian to develop a robust delivery method which ensured the illustrations were suitable for animation purposes. Maguires then composited Adrian’s fantastic work and created final artwork for the outdoor campaign.
In developing the TV commercial, Adrian’s illustrations were skilfully crafted and brought to life by BAFTA winning visual artist James Houston, another Glasgow patron whose creative flair and technical skills were integral to the campaign.
Maguires also worked with Glasgow songwriter John McLaughlin to devise and compose a memorable and festive music track which complements the visuals perfectly.
The campaign is truly a Glasgow production, designed and delivered by a passionate and talented creative team. The ad recently was awarded ‘Ad of the Week’ by The Drum.
