Driving awareness and footfall for the high-profile, world-class Emirates Arena venue through large scale outdoor creative.
With Glasgow hosting the Commonwealth Games 2014, an awareness campaign was launched to promote the opening of the Emirates Arena, Glasgow’s newest sports facility and host of many events, including cycling in the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, basketball and badminton. The premise of the campaign was to promote the facility opening for the Glasgow public to use. With the strapline ‘It’s yours, own it’ as the crux of our marketing strategy, we developed materials for multiple media channels, including 48 sheets, 6 sheets, posters, press packs and digital display ads.
Our creative focused on the people of Glasgow who use the arena, illustrating that the venue was now open for all age groups and demographics. The creative backdrop utilised the photography of Joe Connolly at Simple, who beautifully captured the fantastic architecture of the Emirates Arena. Heroes of the campaign were chosen from all different sporting backgrounds, giving the campaign an aspirational tone.
